Amelia Island is located just 25 miles north of downtown Jacksonville and separated from Georgia by the Nassau Sound, one of the best fishing spots in all of Florida. Charter deep sea fishing for Kingfish, Grouper, Red Snapper as well as numerous other sport fish are enjoyed here by the novice angler as much as the seasoned veteran. Narrated sightseeing cruises along the Cumberland and Amelia rivers are a nice way to relax for a few hours and take in the Island from a different prospective.
Amelia Island is home to six championship golf courses. Three marinas provide easy access to the Intracoastal Waterway, Atlantic Ocean and majestic Cumberland Island plus deep in-shore waters make this an ideal spot for sailing. Both sailing instruction and charters are available on the Island. Visitors can escape into the warm saltwater marshes on a wildlife adventure in a canoe or kayak or take one of the guided nature tours.
